PLEASANT FOLK is an assortment of vintage, art and craft both created and curated by shop owner Rae Pleasant.

Antique, retro, vintage, and outmoded clothing, accessories, and objects are fairly sourced at the ground level. Many pieces are gently cleaned or refurbished to preserve or update their condition. Color, pattern, material, and fashion history define the collection.

Craft items are original designs handmade by shop owner. Inspiration comes from the rustic nature of the South West and Down Under for a classic and grounded aesthetic with respect to global cultures. Materials are sourced for being natural, recycled, scrap, or vintage such as linen, cotton, and leather.

Illustrations and artwork are created by the shop owner unless otherwise stated. They are original in design and execution. Story-telling, fashion, and nature drive the intent of the images.

Pleasant is an African American Dallas resident employed in the arts and heritage field. She studied Art History and Dance Performance at Southern Methodist University then continued her Art History education while travelling to New Zealand. Pleasant enjoys the practice of craft and visual art in her spare time.
